Name: Near (Nate River)
Age: 13
Ethnicity: Human? x3;
Occupation: Whammy student
Personality:
Near is a cold, emotionless child. Always the top of his classes, other children often envy his level of intelligence. Just the same, some envy runs deeper in others and because of that, Near has a few enemies. The most notable of which is "Number Two" in ranking at Whammy's House, constantly attempting to get the best of Near, however always falling short.
It could be said that Near somewhat idolizes L, but if it's true, he hides it well. Canon-verse, he seemed utterly unfazed by the news of L's death, as he reacts to every other aspect in his life. True, he isn't lacking in emotion as much as his mentor, though any emotion he allows is typically sarcastic.
History:
Seriously, Near isn't known for a history or nothin'. Mostly just that he's an orphan and whatnot, lives at Whammy's, hated by Mello, pretty much hates everything, et cetera~ Sorry I can't make this longer... Everything else's long, though, ne? ;3 Oh, by the way, this is Jan, and the Near from Innocence. Hiya~! 83
Fears/Faults: Apathetic, arrogant, proud, obnoxious
Virtues: Power of observation, intelligence, strong will, mature sense of justice.
Anything Else: Near....Near pretty much hates Kira. X3
Name: Rayne, a.k.a Jazz Collins.
Age: Fourteen.
Ethnicity: One fourth Irish, three fourths British.
Occupation: Wammy student.
Appearance:
Rayne is small for her age and the prospect of you growing much taller is slim. Her skin is a healthy pale. She has blonde hair but her Irish roots break through with her clover colored eyes.
Personality:
Rayne is distant, a tad paranoid, and rarely converses with others. She would rather spend her time reading and observing her surroundings.
If she does manage to forge a bond with a person than she becomes fiercely protective and loyal to a fault. She would give her life to someone who managed to win her trust, though she herself believes this impossible.
History:
Rayne witnessed the slaughter her mother at the tender age of six. Shortly after, the “voice” was born. Like most children who have suffered such trauma, Rayne could easily turn homicidal with the slightest nudge. To cope, her mind developed such things like the voice as a split personality. More like schizophrenia, it searches for the urge to kill in others and helps her tame her own urges.
A month after her mother’s death she was taken in by Wammy’s House, only passing the psychological tests by bluffing and listening to advice from “the voice”. As she got older, she devoted more of her time to studying and observing her new home or occupants, not caring for contact with others. Not to say she was unpleasant but more apathetic.
She started keeping notes on her observations at the age of twelve and hides them under a lose floorboard in the library. Whenever she feels she can no longer stay in the company of the other orphans she hides under her bed and only leaving for classes.
Fears/Faults: People, "the voice", losing control.
Virtues: Curious.
Alliance: Respects the idea of L.
Strengths: Observation.
Weaknesses: Chocolate.
Likes: Books.
Dislikes: People.
